I came across Mary Maddox and Mayou clinic in the literature. Both Mary Maddox and Sheila Mayou were emarkable women who started a whole new profession in the British Medical history. I am looking for a photograpgh of Mary Maddox for my presentation. If you have it, I would appreciate very much if I can use it along with the photo of Sheila Mayou in my presentation. This is of great historic importance!

Thank you
BrianBrianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01390335514573107256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5060008016421967331.post-2001624759779707312009-09-01T16:11:03.973+01:002009-09-01T16:11:03.973+01:00Mina - I enjoyed writing about her so much. She sounds like someone who took things in her stride and certainly like someone who had some backbone. I wonder how long her trip to Australia took back then. What a bunch of accomplishments! No wonder you wrote this moving post about her. A lovely tribute Debora and as they would say in Australia; that is "one heck of a sheila".Through My Kitchen Windowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17300798774076098054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5060008016421967331.post-84960803723725367682009-08-19T19:38:09.197+01:002009-08-19T19:38:09.197+01:00Incidentally, since I've been serving a nicely...Incidentally, since I've been serving a nicely seasoned bowl of wallpaper paste every Thanksgiving since the Carter administration, I'd like to personally thank you for your tip about the milk being hot. I feel her presence, even though she's been in Heaven for decades. I see your dear one is hovering over the masher, making sure her dearies eat potatoes like they mean it. I adore this post. It is everything great food writing should address: skill, art, science, and most importantly, the licked spoon. I once had an amazing conversation with her about living in London in the Blitz during the Second World War, She spoke of it in a reserved, self deprecating fashion that reminded me of nothing so much as the ineffable Celia Johnson in the classic 1945 film Brief Encounter. She was definitely the real thing.
